After finishing my undergraduate degree I entered the vacation rental industry. There I learned valuable customer service skills and got promoted to a position in the marketing department. I decided to continue by education by pursuing a Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communication. The program was fully online, and allowed me to learn and apply my new knowledge in the field simultaneously. The pandemic hit the Outer Banks hard, so my husband and I moved to Chesapeake, Virginia. I continued my path in marketing by working with real estate agents. It was then I decided I wanted to switch careers and enter the field of education; sharing my work experience and skills with teenagers and young adults. It has been a fulfilling job that I enjoy!
