Incorporating a background in freelance journalism and BA in Film Studies, Angela was a craftsperson and Property Master in the film industry for 25 years before becoming a Business Representative at IATSE Local 44, helping to represent, support, educate and advocate for the members of her shared union. A fierce advocate for human rights, women's rights, labor rights and equality for all was the driving force to join the labor field. Frontline engagement with members, employers and other union representatives, addressing contract issues, working conditions, wages, benefits and safety are the hallmarks of her current work. Skilled writer, both technical and prose.Representing Local 44 with a coalition of other unions, was an integral part of the Labor/Management Committee that came together to draft the 'Return to Work' White Paper during the Covid-19 pandemic, the document submitted to Governor Newsom, which created (and was later widely considered as) the most comprehensive safety plan in the country for an industry to safely continue working during the course of an infectious disease outbreak.A long-time participant in Industry-Wide Labor Management Safety Committee, she has worked with the coalition between the producer's administrative organization, Contract Services Administration Trust Fund, and the aggregate of Hollywood labor unions collaborating to address, shape and redefine safety issues as they evolve in the entertainment industry.Also, representing Labor and Local 44, she is member of the CSATF Safety Bulletin Review Committee, working monthly and sometimes weekly with representatives of the employers on continuously updating the documents that are CSATF's recommended guidelines for safely working in all aspects of the motion picture industry, that shape a global safety standard for film, television and streaming.A member of the Local 44 Bargaining Committee in the IATSE/AMPTP 2021 and 2024 negotiations.Representing Local 44, for 6 years, has been a Delegate to the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, working to support the labor community at large.Represents Local 44 in ESTA, Entertainment Services and Technology Association, a technical standards advocacy non-profit organization, working bi-annually to maintain robust technical standards across all aspects of entertainment, filmed, live theatre, convention, retail, among others.Loves dogs and looks for the laugh every day.
