Asked by CEO to develop the new position of COO and to lead The Foundation’s work in its multi-year operating plan, TCF 20/20, and subsequently to develop The Foundation’s first strategic plan, “Opportunity & Equity.” Work included developing new mission and vision statements with the Board of Directors. Also included designing and implementing a system for quarterly metrics review that formalized institutional learning and adaptation. Responsibilities included determining the five-year goals and strategies, developing annual operating plans and budgets, leading retreats and meetings of the Board, senior leadership, cross-departmental teams, and full staff; and developing multi-year staffing, technology, and facilities plans. Designed and led continuous review and improvement program of operational processes. Also was responsible for Foundation communications and stewardship and maintained a portfolio of donors and professional advisors. Served as a member of the Board of The Foundation’s affiliate, the Valley Community Foundation.

Founding CEO, responsible to Board of Directors for carrying out all aspects of the foundation’s mission. Accomplishments included the establishment of operating policies and processes, including governance protocols and work with affiliated foundation; the creation of organizational identity and implementation of a robust marketing program that successfully positioned this new organization in the community and attracted gifts which established fifty named funds; and, the development of grantmaking guidelines and implementation of challenge program that created endowment funds for community organizations
