I was in charge of music outreach marketing. I plannned, designed, and managed the production of print, web, and social media marketing channels to advertise upcoming music events and news. I advised the department chair on marketing strategy and branding.Additionally, I was responsible for making arrangements and preparations for touring choir, band, and performing groups of the NWU Music department. I made sure itineraries were secured, all financial and logistical arrangements were completed correctly, and projects stayed on or under budget.

At Printing Plus I worked closely with clients to explore their design needs and advise on the execution of projects. I worked directly with the CEO and fellow designers to complete projects in a fast-paced environment with very tight turnaround times. These projects included books, advertisements, brochures, marketing products, identity branding, signage, and more.Additional duties included responding to client inquiries, submitting ticket information, printing finished projects on digital printers or ripping files to make plates for the press.

As Production Manager, I coordinated the bidding and printing process for all university marketing projects. This included conceptualizing, packaging, color conversion, proofing, press checks, paper and ink selection, delivery, and price negotiation.My other role in the marketing department was as a graphic artist. As such, I adhered to brand standards to design a variety of projects such as direct mail, brochures, directories, presentation displays, greeting cards and stationery, signage, advertisements, illustrations, web and social media graphics, athletic guides, and magazines.I assumed the responsibilities of the Art Director when she was on leave. This included supervising the work of student designers, designing the university's Archways magazine, and ensuring adherence of all projects to brand standards. I participated in the discovery process for projects and took part in branding and marketing strategy sessions and analytics discussions

I went above and beyond the requirements of my position as a Public Information Technician by setting a new standard in quality, accuracy, and design skill for all projects produced by the agency. In 2014, I was promoted to the position of Artist II.

As the sole designer for the agency, it was my responsibility to design all agency publications including brochures, newsletters, posters, forms, identity, direct mail pieces, books, and annual reports for print and web.I used InDesign, Acrobat, and Microsoft Word to create a variety of “fillable forms” for online, end-user submission. These forms would then populate to databases that I maintained. I established and maintained these information databases and records for the Education Services department of NPERS and produced regular status reports, charts, and informative publications for department use.In addition, I wrote, proofread, and edited articles for multiple newsletters and other department publications, including the Legislative Annual Report and Annual Investment Report for distribution to thousands of public employees.

As a graphic artist at LJS, I created display advertisements for placement in the newspaper and magazine supplements. These projects ranged from small, inline classified ads to large, full-color, full-page advertisements. I initiated the set-up of automated templates and tasks for certain regular ads and supplements to help make processes more efficient within tight deadlines.I also designed layout, paginated, and imageset newspaper sections and supplements. I would then proof the plates prior to delivering them to the press.

I was responsible for designing company advertisements for newspaper, magazine, billboard, direct mail, and POP display.I honed my skills at image masking and color correction as I prepared digital images of products for placement in print and online catalogs.I produced forms, graphic elements, web graphics, logos and identity materials for the company and its subsidiaries.I assisted the Art Director with catalog page production and layout.

I edited, wrote for, designed, and coordinated the publication of Channels newsletter, a vehicle of the UNL Student Involvement office.I designed and edited publications such as the Involvement Guide directory of campus organizations, and NU Book, which outlined the rules and regulations pertaining to university organizations.I was also responsible for creating forms, flyers and miscellaneous print materials to be used both internally and by student organizations.I updated and re-designed the Student Organization Useful Resource for Co-Curricular Experience (S.O.U.R.C.E.) guides for improved usability and a more dynamic layout that would appeal to their student-leader audience.

I worked closely with Career Services Center staff to create a variety of educational materials for dissemination to students, alumni, and recruiting employers. Many of the projects I worked on included Powerpoint and other slide presentations and collateral materials for seminars, workshops and classes. I also produced brochures, sample resumes, signage, and fliers utilized by the department.
