Grade Results Inc.I joined the staff of Grade Results Inc. in May of 2011. I am responsible for developing curriculum for the companies' online educational program that is offered to students nationwide. I have worked in various roles including a tutor to students in the online classes, an essay reviewer for college level students, making and teaching online courses, and a curriculum specialist in charge of matching state standards to the curriculum and editing materials used in the online classes. This opportunity has enabled me to strengthen my educational technology skills implementing various programs that I was unfamiliar with previously. I have also been able to develop more management skills, working with other employees across the nation, and have increased my knowledge of other subject areas as I worked on various topics.

FACS Teacher

I held the position as the Family and Consumer Science teacher at VMHS for the 2010-2011 school year and was let go due to district-wide cuts. My classroom responsibilities included teaching an array of courses including Housing & Interior Design, Fashion Design & Merchandising, Food & Nutrition, and a middle school Teen Discoveries class. I was assigned a homebound student who was unable to attend school due to medical reasons and instructed him at his residence in each of his classes, both core and elective subjects. I applied for and was awarded a grant from the Family Economic and Financial Education and have worked on several other grants throughout the year. During my time at VMHS, I also served as FCCLA and 10th grade class sponsor, instructed a group of students during an Enrichment class where I assisted struggling students in failing subjects, and assisted with Standardized testing in both the middle and high school levels. I contributed to various committees including the Parental Involvement Committee, which including presenting a series on Parenting Middle School Age Children and served as Hospitality Director for the school.

I was the Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at IHS. Along with FCS, I also teach a First Responder class, Pharmacy Technician, and various science classes as needed. I have given state standardized testing and have administered the ACT. I implemented a Health Occupations Program at the school, and have contributed by enabling students the opportunity to receive endorsements on their diploma. Have advised a group of 25 students as part of an Advisory Group, serve as the co-sponsor of the Color guard, and contribute to various committees including Positive Behavior Support, School Improvement, Advisory, and Sunshine Committees.

I assisted with graduation, senior awards, standardized testing, and planned and coordinated an 8th grade night to introduce incoming freshmen to the school. I was offered a full time position the following year but declined due to distance of the school from my home. As a senior teacher I assisted student with college preparation and career planning. I also assisted in writing the grant to fund the Freshman Academy at the school, as well as participated in a School Grant Writing Committee.
