Metabolic Medicine - As lead psychologist working into the metabolic medicine team, I provided cognitive, developmental and neuropsychological assessment for children with the whole spectrum of rare metabolic disorders, including the MPSs, Pompe, PKU and MMA. This includes diet-controlled conditions, those which cause learning or behaviour difficulties, and some which are neurodegenerative. 2. Endocrine Disorders - For approximately one year I covered this department working with children and families coping with congenital hyperinsulinism. 3. Rheumatology - I provided supervision and consultation to psychologists working in rheumatology affecting cognition and learning.4. Assisted Communication Clinic - I competed neuropsychological assessments of children with significantly impaired communication as part of the team developing assisted communication packages.I also provided support and intervention for children dealing with adjustment to their illness, managing difficult symptoms and treatments, anxiety and low mood, adherence to treatments and many other aspects of health-related wellbeing. I also worked with parents facing difficult treatment decisions, managing behaviour, supporting their children with their health condition, and dealing with their own loss, grief, guilt or anxiety.

I am the founder, director and clinician of a multidisciplinary clinic in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, specialising in all aspects of child psychology -- emotional and behavioural difficulties- school or educational concerns- learning or developmental difficulties- coping with health conditions- psychometric assessmentsI set up this clinic and worked there full time for several years before returning to the UK to work. The clinic is psychology-led and the team comprises psychologists, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists working with support workers to provide Child Development and Children's Mental Health Services. The team work with children from all backgrounds and nationalities across Cambodia, they support schools, provide IEPs, run workshops and training for parents and professionals, and contribute to local events promoting mental wellbeing and health services. They have recently started a program of research into psychology service need and understanding in the region which will be presented at international conferences in Bali and Vietnam this year.
