4th-year project course in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Toronto (PCL472). Research student under the supervision of Dr. Leonardo Salmena and PhD candidate Mike Lee. Currently working on a project studying the role of mitomiRs in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Leonardo Salmena and PhD candidate Mike Lee. Set up experiments focused on studying miRNAs involved in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).- Performed PCR and PCR purification to amplify DNA sequences of interest for further use in other experiments. - Carried out ligation experiments to create plasmids for use in bacterial transformation.- Carried out bacterial transformation to create bacteria that express DNA of interest on a larger scale.

Research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Madison Edwards. Assisted in setting up and carrying out various parts of the protein purification process for the examination of proteins for drug discovery.- Created and maintained E. Coli cultures to produce cells for use in protein purification experiments.- Carried out cell harvesting using sonication techniques to isolate proteins for studying.- Performed nickel-NTA resin affinity chromatography and dialysis to further isolate proteins for studying.- Performed western blots and mass spectrometry to identify and analyze proteins.- Prepared various buffers for use in experiments.

Program organized by the office of Research and Health Science Education under the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Paired undergraduate students with graduate/post-doc mentors according to the student's interests.- Shadowed Dr. Germanna Righetto to observe the initial steps of the drug discovery process- Observed experiments and methods used in the isolation of proteins for developing new drugs and studying drug targets- Observed various technologies used in structural genomics.
