Second-year Aerospace Engineering student at Iowa State University with extensive design skills, aerodynamic understanding, and leadership experience. Throughout my time in both high school and college, I’ve prioritized involvement in engineering and design-related activities. The time investment of participating in the FIRST Robotics Championship all through high school provided me with a foundational skillset that centers around the “think, make, improve” design process. After achieving my Solidworks CSWA certification in my sophomore year of high school, I became an integral member of the robotics team, being named pit captain, design lead, and receiver of the team’s “Firsty Award,” which is given to the student who best exemplifies the team’s goals and values.At Iowa State, I’ve maintained my dedication to engineering projects by joining the Iowa State Formula SAE racing team as a member of the aerodynamics subsystem. Here, I’ve been able to apply my skills as a designer to aerodynamic devices and have learned to validate my designs through aerodynamic simulation tools (Star CCM+). I’ve also been extremely involved in the fabrication process of our aero-kit, becoming proficient in composite manufacturing techniques, which have only enhanced my abilities as a designer. I look forward to expanding my involvement within the Formula SAE team and the Department of Aerospace Engineering here at ISU in the coming years, as well as exploring new professional opportunities.
