About Angela Harris

Angi is a consultant with the IVCC technical team, specialising in field entomology and supporting a number of different initiatives across the portfolio. Developing strategy for IRS in the control of malaria in sub-Saharan Africa as well as providing support to field trials of Attractive Targeted Sugar Baits.With over 15 years of experience controlling a variety of insect vectors of disease across multiple geographies; her previous roles have included working with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, managing multiple field operations and operational research projects. She led the CDC vector control response to Zika in Puerto Rico in 2016 and subsequently went on to direct the conception and development of the Puerto Rico Vector Control Unit. Prior to this she was a Gates Global Health Fellow at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, where she worked on the Neglected Tropical Diseases team, managing the vector control portfolio. Here her experience varied from being on the ground working with local and national governments to strategising building consortia and collaborations for the implementation of programs as well as providing support to the teams with the skills to get the work done.Angi is alumnus of both the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine where she received her Masters of Science and PhD respectively.
