About Ang R Bennett

I am an interdisciplinary artist, curator, and non-binary queer activist. My contributions to the art community have earned several local Omaha awards and international recognition in Taipei, Taiwan.My artistic exploration delves deep into Black and Queer identities, blending introspection with research. My portfolio includes Body Defiance, a two-person show and mini-documentary at Amplify Arts Generator Space, and a solo exhibition, colored Black., hosted at Petshop Gallery in 2020, both in Omaha, NE. My work has been exhibited in local and regional galleries. Notably, my art is featured on the inaugural membership card for the Stonewall National Monument Visitor's Center, the first LGBTQ2IA+ center within the National Park System.I currently serve as the Vice-President at BFF Omaha, a local arts non-profit, while also managing the BFF Gallery. Additionally, I've held the position of Visual Arts Chair for the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards since 2021, transitioning from a shared co-chair role, and I'm actively engaged as a member of both the Amplify Arts Community Advisory Group and Opera Omaha Community Panel.
