About Angus B.
Over the last 15+ years I have acquired a range of OD/Leadership development skills and experiences through actively seeking opportunities to work in a wide variety of geographies, industries and organisational settings. I have deliberately done so to enable me to continue to develop as an OD professional as well as feeding my personal desire for challenge and diversity. In addition, I have also had a long-standing relationship with academia (Associate lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University, Client Director at Bath University School of Management and Associate Fellow at Warwick Business School). These associations again had a dual focus intended to both ensure that wherever possible my practice was informed by relevant theory and or research as well as nurturing my innate curiosity.I believe that clients, be they individuals, groups or organisational systems typically possess most if not all of the resources that they require to succeed. My role is often to help re-frame or realign these to generate greater success which may include offering alternate theories, frameworks, heuristics etc to enable this process. I am also very keen to work collaboratively with clients to help them play to their strengths and to seek sustainable ways of moving forward towards their goals.Examples of some recent achievements• Collaborated with the R&D function of a large global pharma co to re-design their strategy, develop a new operating model and identify and develop core leadership capabilities necessary to effectively execute the strategy. • Developed a leadership/cultural intervention to compliment a ‘Vanguard’ operating model being piloted for the broader NHS at a large NHS Trust• Worked with a large professional services firm to develop their integrated Talent & People plan and agree a roadmap including priority focus areas and actions
