I am an Employment Solicitor based in Derby and have over ten years' specialist experience of employment law.I regularly advise clients on all aspects of employment law such as;- the effective management of employee absences, performance, disciplinary procedures and the handling of grievances;- advising business and insolvency practitioners in relation to the TUPE implications and requirements of mergers and acquisitions;- advising both the private and public sectors in relation to consultation on redundancies and TUPE transfers.I regularly conduct my own Employment Tribunal advocacy (on behalf of Respondents and Claimants).My specialism is the provision of employment law advice to institutions in the education sector. I regularly provide a range of advice to Academies, Multi-Academy Trusts, State Schools, Independent Schools and Free Schools. I regularly present seminars and produce articles on the relevant law and changes to best practice in this increasingly dynamic and specialist sector.Any given day may involve anything from straightforward advice regarding the terms of the Burgundy Book, to advising clients on the implications of formal Trade Union ballots or industrial action.I thoroughly enjoy this aspect of my role and the interaction it allows me to have with individuals within the education sector.
