At IFMR Capital, I was Director and Head Microfinance Origination. In this role I headed one of the largest and fastest growing Impact FI - debt businesses in the country. I was responsible for building strategic partnerships with clients, originating deals, credit underwriting, structuring and execution of deals. I've played a key role in guiding the company's outlook and strategy towards the sector and have represented the company at various industry/sector level panels/conferences. I was instrumental in leading due diligences to over a 100 corporates in the microfinance, MSME lending, Vehicle Finance, Housing Finance space and used to be a part of the first level credit committee that took on-boarding decisions. In the period that I presided over the microfinance and small finance bank origination business of the company, I was responsible for more than 55% of the business volumes of the company. I further scaled the business volumes by over 150% - and steered the company away from a risk event in the form of demonetisation. I have gained a wealth of experience in fixed income and structured finance products and have led work on the first pooled bond issuance of MFIs in India, the first ECB to an MFI in India, the first securitisation of MFI receivables to a mutual fund etc.
