Program Coordinator/Administrative Assistant
While working at Lutherwood, I secured three consecutive positions. I began running the Summer Jobs Service 2010 program initially. Once the program came to a close, I took on an Administrative role in the Guelph office on a part-time basis during my fall and winter school terms. I then returned to Kitchener to lead the Summer Jobs Service 2011 program.Program Coordinator (Kitchener, ON) Summer 2010, Summer 2011The Summer Jobs Service is an Employment Ontario program which is funded through the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities. This is a program in which an incentive is offered to employers throughout the region to hire students over the summer. In the 2010 program, I worked with over 150 employers and over 1100 students. In the 2011 program, these numbers increased to over 180 employers and over 1200 students. Each year I was responsible for a budget of over $850,000 which I successfully distributed to the employers. This role was greatly self-directed and I was able to complete both summers with much success. Through case notes I was able to keep the program details organized and well documented to adhere to government guidelines.Administrative Assistant (Guelph, ON) Sept. 2010- April 2011In addition to executing daily administrative duties, in this role I was able to further strengthen my relationships with clients. Working at the main reception desk in the Resource Centre, I had direct contact with clients who needed assistance with employment. I gained much knowledge of community resources and various programs that were available. This allowed me to build onto my foundation of understanding employment services.
