As part of SAP's healthcare line of business, I work on strategic topics in product development creating innovative IT applications in Healthcare and Life Sciences. I am contributing to revolutionizing Healthcare IT and bringing it up to date with what the world's current technology has to offer. My projects focus on supporting the move towards value-based care, making the work of healthcare professionals easier by employing latest technology and integrating medical data across data silos. Depending on the project and the phase, I've taken on different roles including backend engineer, scrum master, engineering lead, team lead, tech lead, strategic and technical advisor.

I led the development of an application that supports the clinical workflow in identifying pathogenic genetic variants contributing to a patient’s clinical symptoms or diagnoses. I co-developed a relational database design and query optimization for large scale genome data analysis (~200 billion records) and I led an offshore development team building a solution on that design.

My work here included establishing research relationships and collaboration with national and international academic and industrial partners, project management, and lecture organization. Some highlights of my teaching experiences include organizing “Trends and Concepts in the Software Industry”. This series of lectures and seminars aimed at teaching concepts of in-memory databases (IMDBs) in enterprise data management, exploration of new use cases for IMDBs using Design Thinking in collaboration with numerous industrial partners. I've also supervised numerous bachelor’s projects and masters theses in the areas of optimizing enterprise applications such as dunning and available-to-promise processes, database design and user experience.During my time at HPI, I was also the primary Representative for the Hasso Plattner Institute at the SPEC Research Group.

My work here centered around the test-driven development of a monitor to observe a system’s compliance to logical and temporal conditions. This monitor application was developed as part of an IT system that controls the opening and closing of doors in passenger trains.
