Large animal surgical resident

•Responsible for pre- and post-operative care of hospitalised patients (Bandage changes, Routine vaccinations, treatments etc.)•Responsible for the induction and maintenance of horses under general anaesthesia for elective and emergency procedures•Assisting surgeons in a variety of standing and anaesthetised surgical procedures •Responsible for the diagnostic imaging of patients (Digital x-rays, ultrasound)•Assisting with lameness evaluations •Performing in-field castrations

•Responsible for pre- and post-operative care of hospitalised patients•Responsible for the induction and maintenance of horses under general anaesthesia, including routine orthopaedics, colics, dystocias, C-sections and neonates•Assisting surgeons in a variety of standing and anaesthetised surgical procedures •Responsible for the diagnostic imaging of patients, including digital x-rays, ultrasound, scintigraphy and MRI•Assisting and performing lameness evaluations •Performing nerve blocks, epidurals, regional limb perfusion, routine vaccinations, blood-taking and bandage/cast changes•Performing in-field castrations and castrations under general anaesthesia•Theriogenology: assisting in controlled vaginal deliveries, laparoscopic oviduct flushes, laparoscopic ovariectomies and carrying out post-foaling mare care
