As an eClinical Coordinator at Medpace, I work with sponsors to develop application requirements for the collection of electronically reported patient reported outcomes in clinical research studies. This role involves the creation and maintenance of metric reports and study specific documents, assisting clinical database programmers with configuring and testing applications, creating documents for IRB submission, and reporting compliance metrics to sponsors.While studying for my B.S. in Neuroscience at UTD, I spent two years working part-time as a medical scribe, gaining insight into the clinical aspect of medicine and current medical practices. I spent a year as an undergraduate lab assistant at UTD's Dussor/Price lab, where I assisted in rat and mouse behavioral studies and surgeries related to migraine research. At this time, I also volunteered for the Children's Speech Department at the Callier Center in Dallas, assisting with organization and creating tools for therapy. After receiving my B.S., I attended the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) for an M.S. in bioengineering. At UTA, I spent 2 years as a graduate research assistant in the lab of Dr. Michael Cho, studying the blood brain barrier using cell culture techniques and nanoparticles. I was supported by the NIH T32 fellowship, which encourages research into the treatment of cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders using nanotechnology and helps with professional development of their fellows.
