served as Research Nurse Coordinator - supporting 18 Army physcians (ophthalmologists/surgeons) on 23 research projects related to combat ocular trauma while serving in theatre in Iraq and Afghanistan, OIF/OEF. Responsibilities included, recruiting subjects, consenting patients and famillies to the studies, educating and advocating for soldiers and families, serving as liaison and collaborating with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other related entities internal and external to the Ophthalmololgy clinic and the Walter Reed Army Medical Center .Coordinating patient care, and working with the veterans administration hospitals in obtaining rehab and collateral services for active duty soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and coast guard injured in the line of duty. Working closely with the IRB personnel and monitoring and maintaining oversight of all research protocols and the eye injury data base of over 850 active duty military personnel.Nurse Case Manager - providing medical case support to active duty soldiers, retirees and families in support of outpatient care.

While serving as Occupational Health Nurse in a 1200 employee field office, caring for law enforcement personnel, provided Federally mandated nursing services including, but not limited to routine daily clinic, emergency response, employee education for Blood Borne Pathogens and CPR, medical review for fittness for duty, developing a travel immunization program for world-wide readiness. Supported medical aspects of various on-going investigations as well as tactical nursing services for operational contingencies.
