Over the last 25 years I have developed, delivered and monitored a wide range of vocational education, enterprise and digital inclusion projects funded from Europe and other externally funded sources. This has included complex European projects including European Regional Development Fund and European Social Fund that have involved a wide range of partners in the education, voluntary, community and faith sectors and employers. I have been responsible for capital schemes of work to extend and refurbish vocational Training Centres and to deliver vocational and enterprise programmes for young people and local community businesses. My background is in Local Government working for Sheffield City Council and I am an experienced Project and Risk Manager. I am well able to create structures and routines for communication and partnership working which minimise conflict, project failure and risk of grant clawback.I am also an active School Governor at a co-educational Secondary School in South West, Sheffield which has a 6th Form. During my 10 year period as Governor I have been involved in the building of a new school, transfer to Academy status, establishment of a Teaching School Alliance, recruitment of Head Teacher and two successful Ofsted Inspections where the school has continued to be outstanding. I have been Chair of Staffing, Curriculum and Finance Committees and this has enabled me to contribute to strategic planning, to set curriculum direction, monitor financial budgets and to provide challenge to the Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure the school continues to improve.
