• Qualification and certification for lead body and defibrillator device components. This included machined components, coils; silicone and polyurethane tubing, silicone and polyurethane injection molded components, vacuum formed components, metal stamped components and die cut insulator tape and out-sourced sub assemblies.• Monthly performance monitoring with key suppliers, improving performance by 25% annually.• Participation in a cross divisional team that was responsible for implementing a computerized database for receiving inspection activities. • Supplier consolidation by 10% and determined disaster recovery plans for top 10 suppliers.• Participation in a machine component commodity team that assessed and rated all Medtronic machine suppliers. This team was successful in providing a $1 million cost reduction for the Tachyarrhythmia Lead Operations group in 1998.• Participation in cross functional team that redefined component qualification and certification process.

Responsible for facilitating a cross functional team toward a formalized supplier assessment program that realized a $500,000 annual cost savings.
