Delivering even more projects to make a positive difference to children and families.

I work nationally to support positive change in children and family services, particularly in early years and childcare, and focussing on inequality and inclusion as central throughout. I work with a range of partners; Local Authorities, charities large and small and national organisations such as the Local Government Association. I work extensively with the amazing charity Dingley’s Promise implementing a highly successful inclusion project which supports thousands of young children with SEND access mainstream early years. I am also committed to supporting local community groups and charities to achieve all they can. I have supported groups to achieve charitable status, bid writing and business planning with several groups promoting inclusion locally, including CAAP (Cornwall Accessibly Activities Programme), Friends of Face to Face, KICK (Keep it in Cornwall for Kids) and Just Breathe Cornwall.

As a freelance consultant I was responsible for driving delivery and take up of the early education entitlement for two year olds and early delivery of 30 hours of free childcare through, support and challenge to local authorities, partner agencies, providers, children's centres and health services. I utilised data and intelligence gathered through sound relationships, to bring about positive, efficient and effective change and improved outcomes for children. I enjoyed facilitating peer support and information exchange, delivery of national and regional events, creating support documents and case studies. I provided 1-1 support and intervention for target local authorities, including service delivery reviews and recommendations, ensuring regular information exchange and dialogue with the DfE.

Advising on and implementing government childcare policy. Working nationally with local authorities and partner agencies, childcare providers and government departments.

Attend adoption panels in Cornwall to represent children being placed for adoption; to consider the release of children for adoption, the suitability of adopters, and matching children to proposed adopters. The role included analysing detailed reports, raising potential concerns, making recommendations and suggesting support factors to aid smooth transition and good outcomes for children who are adopted.

Development and delivery of strategy and services for families; early years and childcare, children's centres, family support, extended services, play, information services. Securing additional resources to further enhance delivery, such as government grants, lottery and european funding.

Supporting voluntary sector organisations across the south to enable a VCS voice in developing policy.

Supporting delivery of early years policy, strategy and delivery within LAs across the South West. Providing individual and team support and challenge, peer support, information sessions, facilitating planning and performance management.

Managing the review process for the partnership and CYPP Plan including performance management framework and service delivery design.

Programme consultation, design, planning and implementation of multi-agency services for families with under fives.

Design, delivery and management of early years and childcare related services.

Developing and supporting a network of out of school childcare provision and start up/support services (from scratch!).

Design and implementation/management of new childcare facility.
