Hello, my name is Anna Alvarado. I'm delighted to introduce myself as someone eager to embark on the next phase of community empowerment. I am enthusiastic about contributing to our community by equipping students with the resources they need to craft a brighter tomorrow.As a committed student, I am currently pursuing a PPS Credential at CSU Bakersfield, augmenting my master's in Education Counseling Student Affairs. This academic journey is a testament to my dedication and passion for the field of counseling.Philosophy of Counseling:1.   • Assist students with applications and class enrollment for community colleges, UC/CSU, and private colleges• Assist with creating student Webgrants4students Account, and applying for scholarship applications • Review student FAFSA/California Dream Act applications and assist with any needed corrections • Advise students on job readiness programs and skills such as Jobspeaker, job search, resumes, cover letters • Regularly reach out to employers and build relationships that lead to creating career fairs offering job opportunities for students• Find resources for holistic wellness and needs of large diverse student population and provide student referrals • Give presentations in classrooms on Financial Aid Literacy and understanding ways to budget as they navigate through college.
