Pricing Actuary Individual Protection (term, critical illness)

Working in the Actuarial Consulting Team developing methodology for IFRS 17.

Unit Pricing Manager managing a small team and working on daily pricing of unit linked products. I gained valuable managerial experience during my time in this role. I also worked on performing experience investigation of mortality, constructing better processes for the team including overhauling procedure notes and introducing a better TAS compliency register and I assisted the Head of Actuarial with third line review of solvency 2.

I joined Friends Life (via heritage Bupa Health Assurance) as an actuarial analyst working as part of the Finance and Actuarial department. My role was consisted of valuing and reserving for Group Protection, developing procedures and reporting techniques, completing experience analysis for Individual Protection, ICA and New business reporting for Protection and ensuring work done on the team is TAS complient. I have recently rotated in to a Pricing role in Individual Protection. So far I have worked with repricing office rates in time for the Gender Directive, developing experience analysis procedures, producing reports for the Head of Pricing and hopefully will be involved in some product development in the coming year.
