Grow Eco is a small scale regenerative farm serving the people of San Diego by delivering freshlyharvested CSA boxes.- Worked independently to prepare beds for planting, harvest vegetables, and otherroutine tasks- Social media marketing- Implemented a new mapping system of the farm to better facilitate communicationbetween employees

- Analyzed the effects of environmental conditions on the distribution and abundance of an invasive mussel in Mission Bay- Sampled 40 sites within an estuary and gathered information on nutrient levels, metal concentrations, sediment grain size, chlorophyll a content, and sediment organic carbon and water content- Measured macrofauna and meiofauna abundance and size with specific focus on the invasive mussel, Arculatula senhousia

- Conducted backcountry campsite inventories utilizing Trimble GPS units- Compiled data and analyzed changes in campsite conditions using ArcGIS- Performed trail maintenance along the Pacific Crest Trail and John Muir Trail- Experience using and carrying tools for long distances (i.e. crosscut saw, etc.)- Camped in the backcountry for 5-7 days at a time and hiked 6-12 miles a day over strenuous terrain

- Independent Research Project: The Relationship Between Tree Species Richness and Above Ground Carbon Sequestration on Costa Rican Coffee Farms- Identified and collected measurements for over 200+ shade trees across three coffee farms- Gained skills in experiment design, hypothesis testing, data gathering and analysis, and presenting results of individual research

I worked with the American Chestnut Research and Restoration Project to help develop a blight resistant American Chestnut Tree. The primary area of focus for this project is to identify pathogen resistance-enhancing genes, develop tissue cultures, field test the tissue cultures, and finally reintroduce a population of resistant trees back into forest ecosystems.- Followed detailed protocols to prepare growth media and solutions- Performed greenhouse duties such as watering and transplating- Experience with sterilization procedures, autoclaving, and standard lab techniques- Performed plant tissue cultures (micropropagation) with minimum contamination- Participated in department meetings developing ideas and reviewing results
