Provided leadership and strategic direction relating to Board Governance, Communications, and Human Resources. Led the development and implementation of OPL Board activities and legislative compliance. Responsible for internal and external corporate communications, including media relations, stakeholder engagement, and issues management. Responsible for corporate strategic priorities, and was actively involved in the Ottawa Central Library project. Served as Chief of Staff to the CEO. Member of three-person team that developed plans and reports to garner political support, Board, and Council approvals for a Central Library (Ādisōke). Managed and coordinated public engagement sessions for the Ottawa Central Library, including public input on controversial elements such as site selection. Led OPL’s participation in the OPL-LAC Joint Facility public engagement process (Inspire 555 series) including working with architects, external consultants, and partners. Led a multi-year process to develop a new Strategic Plan (2020 – 2023), vision and mission, including values-discovery process resulting in a new five-value framework. Provided strategic advice and managed communications for challenges to corporate position statements (e.g. Intellectual Freedom) and the application of such.
