I work as a Research Manager within our Data Services team, leading on projects end-to-end with a variety of clients including communications agencies, social foundations and more. I work on our largest accounts, with a multi-market approach which provide great quality data at speed, with expert research support on hand. Our specialty lies in high quality, fast turnaround surveying on a global scale in a bid to close the understanding gap. My other focus lies on instilling high standards across our team of 9, leading on best practice and training junior staff. I take line management responsiblities and continually look for ways to improve my own skills, and those of the team, harnessing everyone’s abilities to their full potential.

I developed expertise in large-scale quantitative projects and in evaluations by working on the Employer Skills Survey (DfE), Graduate Outcomes (Jisc), the Apprenticeships Evaluation (DfE) and the Maths Hub Evaluations (DfE). I took responsibility in leading strands of research, and taking the time to aid development of more junior staff through training and briefing materials. I enjoyed spending time engaging with data, including analysing, presenting and reporting to represent data in accessible formats to support government departments to make meaningful change.

I have developed an interest in the Higher Education, Learning & Skills sector, and continue to develop my specialist sector knowledge in this area. I worked on large scale quant projects, such as Graduate Outcomes, and the Employer Skills Survey, alongside working on projects which continually develop my qualitative skills as well, such as mapping the system of serious violence provision for young people.I improved my presentation and reporting skills, and take on more responsibility in liaising with clients and managing strands of projects.

I developed my skills in sample design, questionnaire and topic guide development, monitoring fieldwork, qualitative interviewing SPSS and tables speccing an checking, presentation drafting and report drafting.I received excellent internal training in the above, and took part in extra external training to develop my SPSS skills further, and start to understand moderating training for focus groups.

I spent 4 years working in hospitality, picking up key skills such as working in a fast-paced environment and communicating with customers. I learned how to work well with colleagues, and work independently as a valued member of our front of house team. I also developed knowledge of the food and wine industry.

I handled all emails and opportunities for gigs for the whole of A Cappella society at University. I had to be extremely organised and be aware of my time in this role, as well as working well within a committee of people with whom I kept contact with regularly. This was an incredibly enjoyable role and I was pleased to be so involved with this society.

I worked at an online transcription service in which I grew accustomed to working to a deadline and providing top quality transcriptions to real life customers.
