About Anna Brady
Currently, my work in education focuses on supporting K-12 schools, and, specifically, K-12 learners in two ways. First, by supporting MAT candidates, both directly and at the program level, to become effective teachers for K-12 learners who are from diverse socio-economic, linguistic, cultural, racial, and/or ethnic backgrounds. Second, by working to build contextualized college readiness among high-school students from under-resourced districts. For such work, I leverage my data analysis, reporting, problem-solving, and communication skills to support with continuous improvement efforts, program review and development, and ongoing engagement with faculty, staff, under/graduate students, district leaders, school building leaders, and teachers, teacher candidates, and other stakeholders to build relationships between the university, its programs, and the surrounding K-12 communities. I have over 20 years of experience in academic research and 17 years of teaching experience at the university level. My experience teaching and supporting MAT Candidates in the NYU Teacher Residency provided me with deep understanding around best practices in education as well as insights into the challenges facing K-12 teachers, learners, and schools nationwide. My doctoral work with the Consortium for Research in Evaluation of Advanced Technologies in Education (CREATE) at NYU provided me experience in the development and evaluation of materials, curriculum, and assessment, specifically within computer-based and online learning environments. My background in the field of biochemistry and laboratory research experience in protein chemistry give me a foundation from which I remain informed regarding recent discoveries and current knowledge in a variety of scientific fields. Finally, through my academic scholarship, I am familiar with the current standards and frameworks used in K-12 Education and teacher preparation in multiple states.
Listed skills include Online Learning Environments, Science Writing, Higher Education, Curriculum Development, and 16 others.
