Managed scientific arrangements to set up a high-throughput diagnostic screening service for multiple labs (including scientific protocol design, laboratory management, logistics, financial planning, regulatory requirements and recruitment).Kept up to date with global scientific progress in relevant fields to continously research how we could improve our processes and develop new testing methods and technologies.Gained experience with various software applications and programming languages (including Microsoft Excel, Python and HTML).

I coordinated 2 research projects in R&D involving the use of high-resolution imaging methodologies to investigate new innovations to improve consumer’s grooming experiences.Throughout this Internship I performed the following tasks:- Regularly presented my work to my team on a weekly basis and conducted a Final presentation (summarising all the work which I had achieved over the Summer) to the department at the end of my Internship.- Organised and conducted shave tests and interviews for Consumer products research.- Received training on JMP software to perform statistical analysis of my data.

I participated in the Crick-Calleva Summer Student Programme and worked in Tolar’s Immune receptor activation lab. My pre-dominant aim was to investigate the mechanisms involved in B cell development/immunity using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing.I learnt various techniques including Flow cytometry, Western blotting, PCR and Fluorescence microscopy and was trained to use a range of analysis software including, Flowjo, ImageJ and Graphpad. I also attended Microsoft Powerpoint training sessions and presented my research at the Summer Student Symposium to an audience of 50 people from various backgrounds.
