I have always had a strong passion for reading - If you look up BOOK NERD in the dictionary, you might see my picture. As you can imagine, I was ecstatic when my very first job was as a bookseller for my local bookstore. One day I went to The Well~Read Moose Bookstore to pick up the latest Rick Riordan book I preordered and happened to ask if they were hiring. Of course, I immediately applied - who wouldn't want to work at a bookstore! The store took a risk in hiring me because I was newly out of school and had no work experience - all I had was my passion for sharing books and connecting people through literature. Through experience and opportunities, I have grown my professional skills, risen through the ranks of the store, and have become a key part of operations. I am one of the best hand-sellers in my store. Our store has some of the highest sales data in our region for my favorite books. I am also a published book reviewer, having five different published reviews (mainly through Indie Next).I create and design chalkboard signs, store display signs and graphics through hand drawing, Canva, and Word. I have made, organized, and promoted a successful summer reading program and holiday catalog - both with high customer engagement. Most recently, I have created and launched both an adult and children's book subscription service. I am constantly pursuing expanding my knowledge through market research, social media classes, and business school, which I can integrate into my professional career.
