Senior surveyor in Savills compulsory purchase team. Acting on behalf of acquiring authorities and claimants, covering a range of property types. Experience includes: valuation, negotiation, client/stakeholder management, advice relating to CPO process and use of CPO powers, development appraisals, property cost estimates, strategy reports and supporting colleagues in preparation of expert witness statements and preparation for Tribunal.

Position at Fisher German continued on to a graduate role, whilst studying part time at Harper Adams University. Position remains in the Infrastructure and Utilities team on a variety of projects, including:- Land Registry searches and producing ownership plans using MapInfo programme- serving of Notices of Entry under the Water Industry Act 1991, Land Powers (Defence) Act 1958, and agreeing access under rights in the form of a wayleave/easement- liaising with landowners, occupiers and agents regarding necessary works and communicating any issues arising to the contractors and designers- negotiating and settling compensation claims arising from works, across various types of land, including agricultural and amenity land- preparing and negotiating licence agreements for compounds on private land Outside of this main role further experience has been gained across numerous areas, including:- assisting in valuations using different methods, including attending site visits, due diligence searches, comparable searches and drafting a valuation report- involvement with planning in both full planning applications and permitted development - drafting Farm Business Tenancy agreements and grazing licences- preparing maps/plans using Map Info software

A year spent gaining experience in the Utilities and Infrastructure team based in the Banbury office. Experience gained through working on a variety of projects for different contracts and clients.Experience includes:- Liaising with landowners, occupiers, contractors and project managers regarding access arrangements and requirements for works- serving notices of entry on landowners and agents and negotiating early entry with parties - negotiating and settling various compensation claims with landowners and agents - Land Registry and due diligance searches

First hand experience of working on an estate, shadowing a resident agent and assisting with day to day work. Experience involved property management, attending meetings with residents of let cottages on the estate, learning of the different enterprises involved in the estate, and a day spent shadowing the gamekeeper.

This experience provided an insight into the profession, shadowing numerous employees and learning of the different aspects of being a rural surveyor. Experience included attending meetings with clients, assisting in the agency department, a show round of a property to prospective buyers, and general office experience.
