Working with the City of New Westminster from my high school years as a skating instructor has really helped shape me and the employee I want to be. Some of the skills I have attained are:• Applying a variety of methods to teach children from as young as 2 years to adults/seniors the basic skills of skating• Patience and understanding my student’s needs, frequently catering the class depending on the behavior and requirements of the students• Conveying information in a variety of ways and techniques in order for the student to comprehend the necessary skills in the level• Lessons plans, writing report cards, strong organization skills, continuous evaluations• Evaluating students on their performance and providing report cards that outline their progress• Dealing with customers; either tending to emergencies (standard fist aid), comforting them in stressful situations or dealing with unsettled patrons
