Doing what I love in support of a charity shop: digital marketing. This was my first experience with growing my digital marketing skills for a small business and I am proud to say I made a positive impact. I transferred my skills from my personal experience with online selling and social media to help develop theirs into a well-oiled and profitable machine.

During what I like to call the 'Post-Grad Purgatory,' while I was figuring out my career path, I leaned on what I loved and became a freelance illustrator. I was extremely lucky to have a substantial network of musicians around me to design album covers and concert posters for. Having this experience of working with contracts, invoices and client relations set me up for my biggest and proudest commission to date: my very first children's book. This period acted as a stepping stone to where I am now as it gave me experience with building my personal brand and managing my own social media accounts to advertise and market my art and build new business.

Did you just roll your eyes? I get it. But here's why being a shameless Depop girlie was a major stepping stone to where I am now: I started selling on Depop to earn some extra cash to cover my nights out as a student and as the sales and profits came rolling in, I realised the true potential it had. During the many Lockdowns of 2020-2021, what started as selling my old clothes grew into buying in bulk from a vintage wholesaler, finding my niche and building a brand for myself with it's own visual identity and USP. I felt as if I was role-playing as a founder of a small business because I was the art director, head of merchandising, head of finance, head of HR and the IT guy all in one little operation - and I loved it!
