Victims Support Officer
I worked as a Victims Support Officer on the Victims of Crime Helpline with the Department of Justice and Community Safety in Melbourne Victoria. I started in 2015 and took a year off to travel and work in Canada in 2019. I returned to the role in 2020 and stayed for two years until I could travel again given we could not leave Australia during that time.My responsibilities Included:• Acting as a first point of contact at the Victims Support Helpline• Providing telephone support to victims of crime• Conducting assessments and needs analysis to identify the most suitable options for the caller• Providing information about legal processes• Making appropriate referrals for clients
