Responsible for the research, development, writing, design, coordination and implementation of corporate and internal communications materials and websites in support of the overall corporate objectives at Canada's largest and most diversified port.

Responsibilities:• Overseeing the operations of The Board's fast-paced events department, which delivers an average of 80 major speaker events and generates approximately $900,000 in revenue annually;• Delivering all aspects of event management, from concept to execution;• Managing a team of 3 full-time employees, and contract employees as necessary;• Developing and communicating the strategic direction of department; responsible for successful execution of business plan; reporting progress to Managing Director and Board of Directors on a monthly basis;• Managing agency relationships for the planning and execution of events;• Preparing scripts and speaking notes for speakers; and• Working closely with high-profile speakers, including senior-level executives, politicians and community leaders (such as Premier Gordon Campbell and Mayor Gregor Robertson).

Reporting to the Director, Communications, I managed the daily operations of The Board's busy and high profile communications department.Responsibilities:• Managing and leading a team of 2 full-time and 1 part-time employees;• Performing all day-to-day media relations, including media outreach for Board of Trade events (speakers included Bill Clinton, Stephen Harper and Stephen Covey)• Communicating public policy initiatives to media and facilitating interviews with organization spokespeople;• Marketing and advertising events including print media and website content;• Overseeing production and design of monthly membership publication; Annual Report and Annual Members’ Directory;• Providing communications services to internal departments as required; and• Maintaining high standards of integrity while overseeing all aspects of brand management.
