Starting off as a busser when I was fifteen years old, I learned a lot about time management. The main purpose of my job was not only to make the customers feel welcomed in the restaurant, but also to help the other servers when they became quite busy. I would bring the bread to the tables once they were seated, then throughout the night I would go around and give water to anyone that needed it. By doing this the servers were able to put more focus on the actual customer. Then once a customer left I would clear and reset the table so that another customer could be sat in a timely fashion.Once I turned 18 I moved up and became a server myself. By watching all the other servers for 3 years I was able to adjust quickly in a different position. By knowing how the restaurant worked, I could efficiently make sure that the customers had what they needed. Also with 3 previous years of communicating with the customers, once I became a server I was able to make conversation and make them feel more welcomed.
