CurrentIn 2001 Anna Detheridge founded the non profit cultural association Connecting Cultures action research agency in the field of visual arts, cultural policy and education with a mission for interdisciplinary and intercultural projects. From 2004 to 2006 Connecting Cultures has been commissioned by the Tuscan Region to promote a project for territorial regeneration through cultural development in the Valdarno area, an experience narrated in the book A changing Vision: the Valdarno Project, edited by Connecting Cultures 2006.In 2005 Connecting Cultures launched an online project entitled Artplaces.org which is an inclusive international open publishing site for independent art spaces all over the world. The Association is currently engaged in the following projects:Dencity, a three year project 2013-2016 of cultural innovation and social inclusion based in Milan - Piccolo Caos, melodrama by Marinella Senatore and the residents of Sant’Elia satellite town of Cagliari - A three year project Milan and Beyond: Creativity and new urban ecologies: workshops and projects for young interdisciplinary artists working in peripheral areas- A yearly Award Art, Heritage and Human Rights for artists under 35 years of age working in the public sphere in support of intercultural dialogue- the longterm project Art and Survival 2006-2008 in Bosnia Herzegovna with partners Triennale of Milan and Refugee Program of Harvard Medical School- a Visual Arts library with an interdisciplinary specialisation in Art, Architecture, Photography, Landscape, urbanism with the goal of collecting and restoring video work and documentation of art projects in Italy.
