Fundraising and communications has recently been split into two departments to allow each team to focus on what they do best. This will maximise expertise and resources allowing us to achieve more.

My team and I are responsible for raising over £800k from trust and foundations, grants, corporate, community and events fundraising. We also deliver the charity’s awareness and fundraising communications activities including our annual Awareness Week and manage our information and resources for our key stakeholders.

As Deputy Head of Fundraising I work very closely with the Head of Fundraising. I project manage the Big Give, responsible for raising £96k in 2016 (£36k over target), our two large awareness campaigns each year, the special events and major donor portfolio (management of our high profile events committee) and line manage the Events & Community team.

As Events and Community Manager at The Lullaby Trust I successfully implemented a two year strategy with over 95% achieved. This helped increase income for the events team and also created new streams and opportunities. As Events and Community Manager I was head of the team and line managed the Events & Community Officer, Special Events Officer and Fundraising Assistant. Overall we were responsible for generating £600,000 and this was exceeded by 5.5% for the 15/16 financial year.

Management of the Rainbow Trust sports event fundraising portfolio which includes over 30 annual sports events and involves over 1,000 sports participants each year. Achieving a yearly fundraising target of £500,000. The management of the events portfolio includes budget management, creating marketing plans, communication planning, building and nurturing relationships, dealing with external and internal companies and agencies, all event fulfilment, on the day logistics and post event evaluation.
