As a GS-5 I conducted field biological surveys for various sensitive plants, fungi, lichen, and bryophyte species and habitats in order to fulfill NEPA requirements, producing maps to document progress. I used taxonomic botanical keys, online research, and personal plant knowledge in order to identify unknown specimens and summarize observed vegetation into plant associations. I recorded occurrences of rare species, documenting their local environmental conditions and the factors that affect their habitat. I helped with revegetation and ecological restoration duties such as planting and seed collection. I assisted with data management and report writing and used ArcGIS products for mapping spatial data. I navigated using topographic maps and GPS and GIS systems. I coordinated with fellow technicians in prioritizing survey sites and organizing data collection. I treated invasive plant populations via hand-pulling and herbicide application in wilderness and non-wilderness landscapes. I applied verbenone, an anti-aggregation insect pheromone treatment, to protect whitebark pine trees from mountain pine beetles. I worked 8-10 hour days in various terrain and weather conditions, driving to survey sites and then hiking either on or off trail. I engaged with the recreating public and private landowners and conducted public hiring outreach events to build rapport and support local relationships.

I propagated and performed routine plant maintenance on the nursery's more than 75 native Puget Sound Lowland plant species. I assisted in restoration of the grounds surrounding the nursery, mechanically removing invasive species. I successfully implemented integrated pest management techniques to resolve infestation incidents. I put my leadership skills to work when helping to lead weekly volunteer work parties. I successfully assisted in propagation and delivery of over 12,000 plants for a WSDOT wetland mitigation contract grow.

I collected data at 18 study plots for a long-term study examining the effects of climate change on conifer seedlings in Mount Rainier National Park. I self-sufficiently prioritized tasks and handled logistics such as weekly gear packing and writing accurate field notes to establish a clear weekly task list. I ensured accurate data collection while censusing seedlings, collecting and sorting seed trap samples, and establishing 9 new monitoring stations. I utilized GPS units, compasses, Hoboware microclimate sensors, TOMST moisture meters, and other field equipment, all while honing my Pacific Northwest native plant identification skills.

I taught dancers ages 9-18 the technique, artistry, and passion required for ballet (both in person and, in 2020-21, via Zoom).

I provided excellent, proactive customer service at the cash register and on the sales floor, and stocked and organized merchandise.

I cared for Pacific Northwest native plant species by weeding, propagating, labeling, and repotting plants. I successfully completed my task of creating an organized retail display area with identified and labeled native plants.

As a peer teaching assistant for ENVIR 280, Natural History of the Puget Sound, I taught students native plant and bird species identification, helped to lead day-long and overnight field trips even in adverse conditions, and coordinated with fellow TA's for scheduling and grading with excellent time management.

Using attention to detail, I assessed employee business trip reports for the Accounts Payable Department using Great Plains and performed administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and organizing paperwork, producing documentation, and using Excel for data processing.
