The Women’s Network is an incredible organisation that I am lucky to be a part of. In my second year in Trinity, I was campus ambassador for the TWN society while we were setting it up. I will continue my role next year as campus ambassador and will take part in many events that will increase awareness about the society. It was lovely to meet the team this year and it is wonderful to see the team grow and the interest in the society grow. In the next academic year, TWN will provide a great opportunity for women in Trinity to authentically expand their network, build confidence, gain exposure to different industries, and discover new career opportunities. Working in Financial Services Consulting involved a variety of work that built up many of my core skills. The environment in EY is one that encourages innovation and asking questions and as a result I learned many things during my time there. I was involved in making and coordinating PowerPoint presentations for the transformational project that I took part in. I also worked in a team of other interns to tackle the topic of decarbonising EY’s client’s fleets. We then presented to partners and received feedback on our work. Regular team meetings and social events allowed me to become integrated into the environment quite quickly.

As a junior analyst in the Student Managed Fund in Trinity, I attended weekly meetings where we discussed market performance and opportunities in our sector. The sector that I was part of was the Financial Non-Banks sector, where I learned about the SMF’s investment in financial companies, Visa in particular. Along with this, I took part in the Davy competition where I researched and presented on the investment opportunities of MasterCard. I met many new people and gained valuable skills!

I was involved in customer engagement on the bank floor. I helped customers with general queries about their bank account, credit cards, loans, mortgages and international payments. It involved engaging with each customer enthusiastically while trying to reach the bank's aims. I looked out for leads for home and car insurance and for our Financial Planner. This role greatly improved my knowledge of banking systems, customer engagement skills and technological sufficiency.

I worked on the Operations Team in Central Securities within Credit Services. My role involved process improvement, data collection and organisation, and creating training plans. I also dealt with customer complaints and errors figures. I released security on the releases team also. These roles allowed me to develop valuable skills in organization and team working.
