My role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UNC Charlotte's English department was a two year long position. During my first year, I worked as a graduate tutor at the university's Writing Resources Center. Throughout my time as a graduate tutor, I founded the center's newsletter, developed anti-plagiarism workshops, managed and created content for the center's social media accounts, assisted the director with the development of a new website, supervised a team of undergraduate tutors, and completed data entry on new clients and client retention.During my second year, I was the instructor of record for an English liberal studies course of my own design. I developed and implemented a curriculum of engaging lesson plans with assignments to assess students' understanding and build lasting skills. These multimodal assignments incorporated online resources and interactive elements to improve student engagement and concept retention. I also collaborated with the university's library to provide students with valuable instruction on developing research skills and multiple citations styles.

As a lead language arts teacher at the YMCA's "Y Scholars" homeschool academy in Charlotte, I taught multiple language arts classes for both middle school and high school grades. I developed individualized curriculums for these classes, making use of multimodal assignments to assess students' concept comprehension and retention. I successfully incorporated technology into the classroom, utilizing electronic whiteboards and online educational applications to engage with different types of learners. In addition, I maintained communication with parents providing student feedback and submitted end of the year student assessments with individualized student feedback and future educational goals/strategies.

During my time as an undergraduate student ambassador for Central Piedmont Community College, I served as the head representative of the Levine Campus. As a part of this role, I represented the college and marketed its resources to potential students by providing campus tours and speaking on panels. I served as the college's primary recruiter at college and career fairs, serving as many potential students' first point of contact for the college. In addition to marketing the college, I assisted current students and ensured that their experience was a success by helping with course registration, aiding with transfer applications and completing FAFSAs. This was combined with other clerical duties for the Office of Outreach and Recruitment such as such as taking phone calls, scheduling appointments, answering prospective students’ questions, and replying to emails.
