Hi I'm Anna; avid environmentalist, photographer, adventurist, and sometimes artistSome Background:I have participated in a variety of different research subjects in a variety of climates. From sampling and tagging fish in Belize, to water quality surveying in my local community, to long leaf pine restoration on the east coast. I love learning about new topics and lending a hand.Throughout college I interned and volunteered with Cape Fear River Watch, a local Waterkeeper Alliance nonprofit. I spent most of my time engaging with the public; renting out kayaks and paddleboats, leading eco-tours, coming up with lesson plans about various environmental subjects, coordinating kids summer camps, and hosting various booths for community education events. I am passionate about science and information being understandable and accessible to all, not a privilege to some.My art degree kept me busy in school with a variety of mediums, my favorites being metal sculpture, photography, and traditional/historical crafting (ie: paper making and basketry). In art you study how people perceive things; everything from lighting to placement, line weight, color choice, target audience, etc. all contribute to how the average person will perceive and interact with a piece or art.I believe the same attention to detail I have been trained in could contribute greatly to the scientific community in getting clear and concise information across to a larger audience of people.Today I am working in informal education via the Ourteach department at Arizona Science Center. My job enables me to connect and engage with learners all across the state of Arizona!Future Aspirations:~Studying for my Part 107 Certification to become a licensed drone pilot~Growing my formal research experience ~Getting bee hives once Ive settled down on a property of my own Some things I love:camping, apiculture, cooking, my dog Gil
