To create and work as Occuaptional Therapist role, as part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service – Neurodevelopmental team covering City and Hackney.-To provide OT advice to members of the multidisciplinary team-Lead in formal ADHD assessments and report writing.-To establish comprehensive communication networks with children and families, Hackney and City's health and social care professionals and other related statutory, private and voluntary organisations.-To develop therapeutic relationships with children, young people and their carers and motivate them into engaging in therapy programmes using enhanced communication skills.-To report effectively on observations of child’s performance/progress in areas of self-maintenance, productivity and leisure both in written and verbal form. This included ADL reports, recommendations, referrals other services and the development of multi-disciplinary care plans.- To attend relevant meetings on behalf of the CAMHS NDT (Team Around Child TAC Meeting, Annual Reviews, Professionals Meeting, Other service meetings within the Trust).-To monitor, evaluate and modify highly specialised, individually tailored treatment (evidence based) using adapted MOHO outcome measures for children to ensure intervention is effective and complimentary to the child’s development, lifestyle and educational programme.- To work with the multidisciplinary team to come up with a working differential clinical diagnosis-To assist with furture invovlement to recurit an additional OT for the service.- To have invovlment in the role CAMHS worker in School through the Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools (WAMHS) service.-To partake in Duty role at local CAMHS site and City and Hackney SPA team (in partnership with Homerton University Hospital Trust).

What is Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools (WAMHS)? It was created to be an expansion of successful practice that is conducted by colleagues in schools and delivered by existing mental health services in City and Hackney. WAMHS aims to: -Significantly improve outcomes for children and young people through supporting partnership working across services. -Build on the positive relationships between children and young people, education staff and community partners. WAMHS worker’s role School facility: -Delivering training to colleagues, of effective mental health interventions and strategies for children/ young people/ students. -Give guidance and advice to colleagues on complex cases of young people. -Provide information and link points of other services in the community for families/students. -Work alongside colleagues/ schools in developing mental health themed programmes. -Help to give advice or clarity on referrals to community agencies e.g. CAMHS-D, First Steps, Specialist CAMHS-Having a good knowledge of the other community services (CAMHS Alliance) and what criteria each service has. They can advice colleagues on how to complete referrals and what evidence or reasoning is needed.
