I work mainly in the chemistry sector, providing advice on all aspects of the patent process, from patentability opinions, drafting and prosecuting applications, through to oppositions at the European Patent Office.My experience covers a wide range of technologies including food packaging, printing materials and semiconductor manufacture. Coming from a medical family, I have a particular interest in glucose sensors and other medical devices.Clients include companies from start-ups to multi-nationals, as well as an NHS trust, with many based in the Nordic Region.I am recommended in The Legal 500 UK for having a high success rate in opposition and appeal hearings. As well as representing clients at the EPO, I handle prosecution of international patent portfolios before overseas patent offices. Additionally, I am also recommended as an ‘IP Star’ by Managing Intellectual Property.I have an interest in patent education and contribute to the CIPA Guide to the Patents Acts, the standard reference text for UK patent attorneys. My work was recognised for this with a CIPA Journal Editor's Award (2015).
