Responsibilities- Managing 2 staff.- Implementing a Solution Life Cycle.- Arranging training for the Solution Life Cycle for 70+ people, both internal employees and contractors.- Introducing stricter testing regimens in many Transpower Projects to ensure that risks are lowered.- Creating the IT On-call policy to recognise the after hours work done in support of Transpower’s critical applications.- Running a Staff Satisfaction survey for raising IT management awareness of the issues that were occurring in Transpower IT in 2005.- Assisting with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) implementations and the understanding of ITIL processes within IT.- Managing change and continual improvement for the SLC.- Lowering the risk of issues when IT changes were implemented into production by assessing the impact of all Requests for Change on the Transpower supported applications to.- Assisting in RFP evaluations

This made sure there was a clear understanding from both sides on the priority of the work we were doing for them resulting in no complaints.• Managing a good working relationship with multiple vendors who were key resource providers to the team.• Achieving performance improvements on the primary database. • Hiring of four new staff, all of whom achieved core competency in the planned time.• Assisting in the update of the Service Level Agreement between IT and one of our customers.• Ensuring several major enhancements and changes were smoothly integrated into the Market Systems, including the move to the Electricity Commission from the NZEM.
Responsibilities• Seconded to Team Leader of the SCADA team during a major upgrade to manage a team of internal staff, contractors to the team, and an external support contract• Instigating and chairing the monthly Resolver meeting to facilitate sorting out of issues that affect all Resolver groups across applications, operations, and DBA support. • Managing Customer’s expectation during a project mandated change freeze. This involved assessing request for changes and implementing where possible while keeping the changes to a minimum.• Preparing the tender documentation and contracts for the three year Support contract• Evaluating the contract responses as part of a small team. • Carrying out Factory Acceptance Testing and application testing for the major upgrade project • Supporting the SCADA system and other real time applications including after hours on-call support.
