I have taught KS3 and KS4 History as well as KS3 RE and some KS3 Geography.I taught a range of year groups in mixed ability groups.Due to the more cross curricular nature of the Welsh curriculum I have covered a wide range of topics within the Humanities disciplines including migration to and from Britain through time, the global impact of different religious founders and the growth of tourism.With year 8 and 9 I have covered a broad range of topics including: the English Civil war, Charles I , and Oliver Cromwell; The transatlantic slave trade; the industrial revolution; the role of empire through history; the Rwandan Genocide and the first world war.I also gained experience in the pastoral side of school life. For the first two half terms of my time at Cathays I was part of year 11 and year 8 tutor groups. From January up to the Easter holidays I have also had my own form, a year 12 tutor group. In this role I have delivered tutorial sessions on a variety of subjects and issues and led class discussions. My role is also pastoral, giving advice and finding out important information for my form when they need it.
