● Assist in cost effective process development transitioning from low volume to production volume scale specialty polymers.● Synthesize polymers for use in PSA, thermoplastic, ink receptive, paint-complexing, and anti-reflective applications through a variety of techniques including bottle and 12L flask reactions.● Routinely perform polymer analysis and characterizations by NMR, Brookfield viscosity, pH, and percent solids, particle sizing.● Collaborate with and support product development team members in conjunction with coating composition DOE for various product applications

● Design and conduct reactions and purify and isolate products in the course of developing efficient and general protocols for the synthesis of 1-substituted-1,2,3-triazoles. Reactions performed include organic azide preparation via SN2 reaction, Cu(I)-catalyzed azide/alkyne [3+2] dipolar cycloaddition, thermal, uncatalyzed azide/alkyne [3+2] dipolar cycloaddition, and Cu(I)/Ag(I) co-catalyzed desilylation of trimethylsilyl-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles.● 43rd National Organic Symposium (University of Washington-Seattle, June 2013): Participated in all plenary and poster sessions and co-presented a poster titled, “Applications of Bis(trimethylsilyl)acetylene in 1,2,3-Triazole Synthesis.”● National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates Symposium (University of San Diego, July 2013): Delivered an oral presentation titled, “Summer 2013 TIM REU Research Progress Report: Methodology for Synthesizing 1-Substituted-1,2,3-Triazoles.”
