Research Assistant
I'm currently working as a full-time research associate in Dr. Strunk's biology lab at Trinity University. We study a lipid phosphatase implicated in several human neurodegenerative diseases, and I have many projects where I investigate the interactions and pathways that our protein of interest is involved in. I utilize several molecular biology and biochemistry techniques each day, and I am especially well-versed in procedures involving genetic engineering, immunoprecipitation assays, DNA cloning, and more. We hope that our investigation of this evolutionarily conserved protein in yeast will provide more insight into its role in the development of human diseases, and we look forward to publishing soon.
