With a background in math and physics, I now specialized in scientific computing and programming (parallel) algorithms.I love solving real-world puzzles: from developing algorithms in a new language, or optimizing large non-linear problems, to finding stimulating speakers for an event.I like scientific computing: developing algorithms, and programming simulations. While analyzing the data, I enjoy interpreting the statistics. As a software developer at Stream HPC, I enjoy the thrill of software optimization: making software as fast as possible. Projects in various domains involve everything from low-level implementation of new algorithms, to optimizing existing code. I love the complexity of parallel algorithm design and the detailed implementation on GPU using OpenCL or CUDA.As a researcher in scientific programming at the UMC Utrecht, I enjoyed diving into parallel programming on GPU systems. Using CUDA C, I designed, implemented and optimized a parallel algorithm to simulate MRI imaging. This resulted in the tool development of a Bloch simulator that was a 200 fold faster than the standard methods. Using data science, I analytically eliminated sources of numerical error in the model, and kept the effects of noise in check. Engineering new methods for optimization and minimization.I am smart, hard-working and I like a challenge. I love learning new things. I prefer working in a team towards a common goal. Variation in projects keeps me motivated. I am goal-oriented and I relish the feeling of actually accomplishing something: from baking a cake to solving a difficult puzzle.
