BIOGRAPHYI graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education Interdisciplinary Studies at Liberty University, along with a minor in Studio and Digital Arts. I was invited to join the honor societies Alpha Lambda Delta and NSCS (National Society of Collegiate Scholars). Apart from my career at Game-U (described below), I'm also a writer and a commissioned freelance artist with two consecutive Honorable Mentions, as well as the Art Program Leader at Gigi’s Playhouse, a non-profit center for individuals with Down syndrome. I enjoy spending time with my family, kayaking, hiking, writing, making digital and traditional art of all kinds, and attempting (with limited success) to keep my pet cockatiel Shadow from devouring everything in sight.EXPERIENCE & SKILLSI am a professional, able to work both collaboratively and independently, and have never missed a deadline in my life. I'm adaptable, flexible, and thorough, and strive for excellence in every project, large or small. Throughout my professional career, I've effectively utilized my writing, editing, and proofreading abilities in these and other fields in several ways. For example, my roles, responsibilities, and experiences, from March 2018 to the present day, include or have included those of:- Instructor & Special Education Instructor (working with individuals and groups of all ages and needs on a variety of subjects, specializing in art, creative writing, and foundational game design). - Blog, Newsletter, Article, & Content Writer/Proofreader (summarizing events in an engaging, witty way, and likewise writing, editing, researching, proofreading, collecting and arranging media, etc., with the goal of conveying a message, summarizing and presenting information with a distinct voice, and/or generating interest - all with an eye towards organic SEO; collecting client testimonials and sharing them with various audiences)- General Writer/Editor/Proofreader (video summaries, miscellaneous writing projects)- Staff Biography Writer- Website Updater (periodically updating, organizing, and adding new content to a WordPress website)- Graphic Designer (designing, editing, proofreading, and conveying graphic designs upon request - e.g., staff pictures, flyers, posters, brochures, etc.)Likewise, I am skilled in a considerable array of software and platforms (Slack, WordPress, Google Docs, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Word, Canva, Mailchimp, and others).
