Making a house a home has always been my passion. I began my real estate journey in interior design. That lead into a passion for historic construction, refurbishment, and restoration. I love that Charleston repairs and rebuilds rather than tears down. Much of Charleston looks nearly the same as it did 200 years ago, just now with paved roads and cars rather than cobblestone streets and horses and carriages. I appreciate that Charleston preserves its history. I began investing in Charleston real estate in 2006. My formula was buy, fix, and hold. I loved studying the market, finding a property that needed restoration, working with great contractors and specialists to make my design vision come about, then marketing them to prospective tenants that would love the home I had created as much as I did. I still manage all of my own properties myself. I truly enjoy being a landlord. I have also mentored many acquaintances and friends in a similar path to help them accomplish their real estate investing goals. It was after helping dozens of people find and buy their homes, as a friend, and not an agent, that I realized, I not only wanted to do this for myself and my own business, but for other people as well. I got my real estate license and have joined with Southern Shores real estate group and couldn’t be more thrilled. They believe in my motto, “If it’s real estate, I can help!” Southern Shores loves real estate as much as I do: all aspects of it. From buying and selling a house, managing rentals with integrity and expertise, designing and building new construction homes with our clients vision, commercial real estate, and home renovation and restoration. We do it all!After working for Southern Shores real estate for a very short time, my passion for design, rehab and new construction, became quite evident. Their building group, RisingTide Homes hired me as the lead designer for all new home, construction, rehabs, and additions. I help design the house from the ground up, starting with platting out the land alongside the builders, designing the floorplan all the way to picking the electrical and plumbing blueprint and then of course all of the design choices. Watching home go from 2-D to a dazzling 3-D is most satisfying.
